Lighthouse Knoxville was renovated by Smith as a special events venue, and also hosts fraternity and sorority formals, corporate meetings and holiday parties. Lighthouse Knoxville opened in May after Smith completed extensive eco-friendly renovations to the 15,000 square foot property. It’s located at 6800 Baum Drive.
“Dr. Smith has completely refurbished the space and has tried to be as environmentally conscious as possible by using the original hardwood floors, repurposing old schoolhouse lights and using LED bulbs, (environmentally-) friendly insulation, water conservation faucets among other things,” said Bankert. “We tried to keep the same outside structure and use the same material already there. We used all the wood and metal on-site and the original doors. There are benches around the property. We refurbished the door frames and metal poles on the deck.
